My local post office has closed down not one for miles, can you talk me through paypal postage perlease

Do any of you do paypal paid postage (is that whats its called?)

How do I go about doing it?

Can you only do it for ebay parcels or any parcels?

Do you then drop the parcels into the local sorting office or post office and get proof of postage or can you only get proof of postage if you buy it AT THE ACTUAL POST OFFICE?

I will need to buy a printer and work out how to print labels etc bit scared

is it easy??? I am a bit apprehensive!!

I use it all the time and find it very easy.

I sell low value small items. I don't need proof of postage, so I just print out the label, stick it on and put the pracel in the post box. It saves me ages in the post office.

When your item has sold there will be an option to print a postage label. Its just a case of entering the weight and the service you want. You can't send things second class, only first.

You can get a proof of posting, an individual one prints out with each label. Its only valid if you get it stamped by the post office. My stuff is low value so I run the risk of not having one and then on the rare occassion something goes missing I have to meet the cost of the refund.

I don't drop off at the sorting office, but a friend of mine does, you would need to contact yours and ask. They won't stamp my friends proof of postings though, she literally just drops them off.

To use paypal postage the item has to have EITHER been sold through ebay or paid for by paypal. So if someone buys something outside of ebay but pays you by paypal you can print a label. If someone buys something off of ebay and sends a cheque you can print a label. But if someone buys something outside of ebay and sends a cheque you CAN'T print a label.

If you need a certificate of posting for all your parcels then to be honest its probably not worth it, as you still have to stand in line at the post office anyway.

you can print stamps through royal mail onto labels using a credit card as well, don;t need to use paypal/ebay

I got fed up waiting in line at PO for proof of postage for parcels and I only send low value stuff - under £10 usually. Out of approx 500 parcels (inc internationally) only 2 ever got lost (and one of those I was a bit about) so I just buy a load of stamps and stick them in the closest post-box.

Mumofdjanbabies, I just print on a plain sheet and A4, cut around in and stick it on the parcel with tape.

I use the Royal Mail one and print onto paper and then cut out.

Yes I've used that before. I've also used smartstamp as well. I prefer the paypal one as the money comes straight out of your paypal account.
