Bought DS1 a halloween outfit. Stupidly didn't look at feedback because it was 99.8%.

Recieved the costume and one bit is missing and part of it is marked. Also is rather small compaired to the size stated.

They have offered a refund but i haven't got time/money to get him a new outfit before we go away friday.

He could make do with the outfit if he puts his own black top with it but i think we deserve a refund.

I can't think of anyway of getting a new outfit before we go away and i don't have the money to pay for a new one. Paid by PO so not sure how they would refund.

How was the outfit described? I think unless its described 'as new' or 'excellent fantastic fabby doo dar condition' you need to expect an element of wear to a second hand fancy dress outfit.

As for the missing bit, well again it depends. If the missing bit was absent from the photo, and its not essential to make the outfit work (ie something that holds something else on), then again I don't think the seller is being unreasonable. If on the other hand there was a witches hat in the picture and you've received the outfit less the hat, then thats different all together.

As for the size, size is very subjective, what might fit my 6 year old may not fit someone elses 6 year old. Is the size writted on the label in the outfit? If so then I can't see how its the sellers fault.

Im a little confused what you want regarding the refund. Are you expecting the seller to refund you without you having to return the item??? If so this is a complete no no. You either send the outfit back for a refund or you keep it and don't have a refund.

If the seller has made a mistake on the listing (it sounds doubtful from what you have written), then they have done the correct thing by offering you a refund upon return of the item.

Sounds like a good honest seller, if they have offered you a refund IMO !!

The issue you could raise with them is the fact that it has a mark on (depending on how is was discribed) and the missing item, you could maybe ask for a partial refund.

Have you got a link to the item?

The seller's offered you a refund so I don't see what else he can do tbh.

It is a new item. Their feedback is awful!
here. And if they decide it isn't their fault they will not refund either postage!
Hopefully have found something else on Ebay and they say they will post tomorrow to arrive in time!

Can you do a search for items near you and ask to collect - I bought This costume and it was delivered today - very impressed with it, from George, do you have an Asda near you?

KaplumbagaBloodyBones · 27/10/2008 21:20

Couldn't find anything local.
That outfit looks great. I can't get to Asda.

Have bought something else and they say they will send tomorrow to get here in time. I hope it does arrive!

Will send the other one back and get a refund.

Ashame i have just seen this could have gone to my local asda for you got ds a dracula for £8.
The seller seems to have a few negs and neutrals but also selling loads of things so in proportion to that not really bad feedback!
Hope you get your refund and your other item arrives!

KaplumbagaBloodyBones · 27/10/2008 21:42

Thanks lilylou. I am hoping it will arrive in time.
