Extra postage for item I have bought??

Hi, I ordered a bumbo from Ebay and payed £5 postage.

I received a card yesterday saying that an additional £5.20 needs to be paid. Could the label have fallen off that says she has paid on sending? Has the Post Office the seller sent it from charged her wrong?

Anyone else had this?

The post office have not charged her wrong. SHE has done the wrong postage.

£5 seems very little for a bumbo.

Most p/os print out the postage now, so it shouldn't be that half the stamps have fallen off.

Ask her for the costs back - tis a shitty thing to do.

Looks like she has printed her own postage off via paypal and not put enough postage on.
I would email her and say you haven't recieved item as her postage costs haven't covered delivery. She as a seller is responsible for getting item to you and covering postage cost.
Could well be a genuine mistake though , that's why i don't print my own off via paypal.

Ask her how much she actually paid to send it and tell her the situation. Give her the benefit of the doubt to start with. I once sent an eBay package and the post office affixed the stamps really carelessly (woman insisted on doing it and I saw it was careless, but I was too embarassed to say). It arrived at the buyer's without stamps, but it was not at all my fault (we refunded & claimed against RM).

i sold a bumbo on ebay well over a year ago and it cost me over £8 to send second class. prob a £1 of the £5.20 is an admin fee for under posting.

She has told me she took it into her post office and paid £5 - She has the receipt and has given me the ref number from it.

Dp is now away for a week and its in his name. I might phone the Royal Mail and see what they say. If I have to pay the £5 I will ask the seller for it.

You can go and look at the item at the collection office. You can do this if you take proof of ID for your DH (check the RM website). You can then see whether the £5 she said she put on it is there, if it is then she underpaid and it is her fault, if it's missing then, er, who knows.

I think that in this situation I would do as lilyloo said. It is the buyers responsibility to sort this out, not yours. Not that I think you should be deliberatly difficult either, but just that if you start making alot of effort to sort it out then the buyer might beging to think that you are in some way responsible for fixing the problem.
