Which is quicker - paying by paypal eCheque or sending a normal cheque?

Have made an ebay purchase but there isn't enough cash in my paypal account, meaning that if I pay via paypal it will be an eCheque. Should I just pay by normal cheque instead? Don't eCheques take ages to clear?

Echeques take about 10 days to clear.

If the seller isn't going to wait for a normal cheque to clear then this will be quicker. However if the seller waits for it to clear (most will), the by the time you've posted it, they've banked it, its cleared and they've checked its cleared, you may as well send the echeque.
