Got a paypal question

I want to buy something and don't have enough in my paypal account. HOw does it work? It has been so long since I had no money in my account I have forgotten.
I don't want to get into e cheques and the person I bought off wants paypal instead of cash on collection

ask them to invoice you, then just click pay. it will automatically pay them from whats left in your paypal, and autromatically take the rest from your bank accont. thats what i do anyway.
