How do I package a load of text books?

How do I package a load of A4 text books? it will be a pretty heavy parcel and I'm going to order a courier but not sure how to package them?

wrap bubble wrap around each book. place in a big strong box and fill gaps with bubble wrap or scrunched up plain paper or carrier bags etc.
add extra tape to the box but not so much that the box can't be opened without damaging books. write address etc on the box - then wrap box in a plastic bag or bin bag (to waterproof it) and place address label on that.
tape securely but again don't over do it.

check that the box is actually strong enough to take the weight when lifted/carried
