SCREAMS!

I've just sold my Mountain Buggy Double on ebay, a PP only auction.

I thought I'd blocked bids from less than 10 feedback, but the winner is a zero feedback ebayer.

Now he says he has no PP account, can he pay by credit card, can we talk on the phone, he's new to all this etc.

Sigh. What to do? It's £346.00, I don't want to get in to cash on collection etc. Can I insist he get a PP account (how long does it take). Or can I not go through with it and give a 2nd chance offer to the 2nd highest bidder.

SCREAMS!

Please can you help me!

Thanks everyone for holding my hand...forever cleaning, your poor friend, that's awful.

I 'think' I just have an inexperienced buyer on my hands. I spoke to him and partner, twins on the way, he's paying the invoice by CC, FIL is collecting it from me in the next few days.

Either they are real pros, or they are just inexperienced.

I feel like such a ninny, I'm an experienced ebayer but this one threw me. Thanks for all the help.

I cleared my current account...just in case....no point having lots of cash sitting where it doesn't earn interest anyway!

Well what a surprise. He tried to pay the invoice by credit card, didn't work, his partner's paypal account won't work, there 'must be a problem with paypal'...so can I call him to arrange alternative payment.

SCREAMS.

I told him no, paypal only auction if he can't pay then the auction is void. I've offered it to the next highest bidder.

Lesson learnt....!

Dont accept paypal if his FIL is coming to collect, you wont have a tracking number in the event he reversing the paypal transaction as goods not received. You should only ever accept cash on collection.
