ok, new to selling on ebay, sold about 10 items now.

not new to selling and using paypal.

have a personal account so dont take credit or debit card payments and always list this in my item description not been an issue really.

one buyer tried to pay with credit card and had to refuse.

he has now paid with the balance in his account was for £10.46 instant payment i didnt need to accept or refuse as cash balance - well paypal have charged me a fee of 56p - does anyone know why??

not gone over the £250 max you can recieve through paypal and have never been charged a fee before

help???

you always get charged to recieve money through paypal so much per pound

not sure why but have never not been charged think its for the convenience of having money sent straight through

every transaction you will notice you will pay so much for having it through paypal

even on here to send money to someone you normally add cost of fees also

Agree. They always charge you to receive payment. Not to pay somebody else though.

honestly never been charged before mind you never recieved anything over £10 before. well you learn something new everyday.

i mean to cover costs for there fee for receiving money not to send money thats free but for a seller to receive money costs them

Not new to ebay by any stretch of imagination. SO this may be one for more experienced users

A few weeks ago I log into paypal to receive a message saying I am reaching my 1600 pound legal limit (to prevent fraud apparently) and i need to verify all my details. I verify my bank account, address and telephone number. The credit card I had registered is expired and no longer in use BUT they told me to return my account to full working order I need to register one. I now only have a prepay one. so i register that!

I then go to enter the 4 digits (the amounts they charge to you card to verify it) BUT i forgot as its prepay the card ADD 2.5% onto the transaction so i have no way of know exactly how much paypal has charged(i tried roundign the number up and down no use) so the card gets rejected. No big deal so I thought.

BUT apparently to get instant transfer of funds from bank you HAVE to have a credit card linked. Is this correct? I told them I cant possibly get the 4 digit amount because of the 2.5 charge....they DON't seem to get this. DO i need to have the card linked to use instant transfer? they say I do but I am sure when I had my basic account this was not true! help!
