Non UK members keep winning my stuff - what can I do about it?

Have had 3 items sold to non Uk members on ebay and I clearly state that I will send to UK only.

Neither of them contacted me to see if I would be willing to post to them. Its a pain as I have to take the parcel to the post office to get a price before I can email them and then go back again to post it!

The items are not bringing me a lot of money either so it kinda makes it not worth the extra effort.

Can I refuse to sell to them and will ebay let me relist for free as it wasnt my fault the bidder bid on it without reading the details?

You can change your preferences to block members fom countries you don't post to. Think it's in the bit where you first list your item

You can block bidders from outside the uk. Look in your preferences.

Posting to Europe isn't much different in cost to UK tbh. To make sure look on Royal mail website for costs.
You can relist, not sure if it would be for free though.

There is an option on Ebay for selling only to UK bidders, you need to tick that box when you are listing the item. I have had this happen and they were really persistent and annoying so I left negative feedback and relisted - they know the rules and are just being difficult

I thought I had done that - will check but am pretty sure on my listings it says post to UK only and thats the only postage costs I have displayed - is that the same thing?

Not sure, you need to go into your prefernces and it will read things like only accept bids from people with 1 feedback, people from the Uk, etc. There will be boxes to tick/untick

You do need to change it in your actual settings - there's an option that says block people from countries I don't post to from bidding on my items or something to that affect.

I have done it & it does stop them actually being able to enter a bid - I do still get people emailing me & asking how much would it be to post to X country though rolls eyes

Think I have found it - what a hassle! I assumed wrongly - that because I only put in postage costs to the UK that that was all I needed to do!

You could cancel the bids from the people outside of the UK & tell them you are cancelling it because you do not post outside the UK as stated in your listing.

I did that before I figured out to stop them being able to bid in the first place!

Why the problem with sending abroad??
You can get a leaflet at the po which'll tell you all the prices. Not complicated and increase your sales!
What are you selling? Are they expensive items or big and bulky to post? If you get proof of posting item is still insured up to £35 like in UK.
I have posted to Australia and Europe and am always amazed how quickly they get there and have never had any trouble with buyers. I have never had a parcel not reach its destination abroad whereas in the UK ......!
My sales are a bit thin on the ground at the moment - I wouldn't think of actually turning people away - however most of my bits go for under £10. If we were talking PC sales or TVs or something I would probably think again.

For me it's just to much agro as the tracking service that RM offer only tracks the item within the UK which is no good for me.

Plus sorting out the labels for customs etc
