Please could you help an ebay novice

earlier today I sold a skirt on ebay. The buyer had put in a few bids and seemed determined to get it. As soon a the auction ended she paid through paypal.

I hve just checked on My Ebay and it says that I have one item eligable for second chance offer. The item is the skirt.

I haven't a clue what this means. I haven't heard from the buyer so as far as I know she hasn't changed her mind. My paypal account is ok too, the money is still there so, please can you tell me what this means and what is going on.

It just means that as you had other bidders on the item you are now allowed to offer it or another item the same to the next highest bidder, but as your buyer has paid and I presume you don't have another skirt the same just ignore it! Congrats on your sale

This is a standard message. I've been selling on ebay for ages, and don't really know what that means tbh. I think it means if you have a non-paying bidder, you can offer it to the next-highest bidder without having to relist. But never actually had to do it, iyswim.

It's not an error message, and since your buyer has paid already, just ignore it.

Can I just hijack and ask would you be put off bidding for an item that was in Spain even if the postage was not much higher or the same as if the item had been in the UK and the starting price was low too?

Have been meaning to try and start selling on ebay for ages but not sure if it's worth the bother for the above reason...

Also, I'm aware there have been some changes made to the way it works recently. Have they made selling much more difficult/a hassle?

I won an item about 2 weeks ago.
It hasn't arrived.
4 days ago i sent a message stating i hadn't received it and could they advise me when i should expect to recieve it.
no reply.
so i sent another one today saying i was disappointed and could they contact me within 7 days to avoid negative feedback.

this has never happened to me before.
what's the best approach?

btw, the item was a light up globe for DS. was only £5 + £5 p+p.
was going to say, it's not the end of the world if it doesn't arrive..but as it's a globe it might be just that.

I'm on a right high and I only sold it for £6. I'm going to raid my wardrobe for more stuff!

Ahhh Dragonbutter, I can help you with this one, regardless of being a novice. If uou payed by paypal you can open a dispute under item not received. I had to do this for a skirt i bought that never turned up. I got my money back no problem. HTH

Do I do that through ebay or paypal?
How long should i leave it before opening a dispute if there's no contact?
