well i sold on the 9th of april and posted on the 17th after payment recieved and I just got this message

It cost me £6.30 to post in the first place more than the item is worth.
I put in an extra thong as an apology for the high postage and did not make on the postage at all. I will not send anything abroad with out international signed for which is £3.50.

What do I do ? what am I liable for?
a bit confused it is not my fault that she was out of town an advice thoughts anyone?

Let her know you are happy to post again but will only do so if she sends money for postage. Don't know what you should do if she refuses however....

unfortunately if they paid via paypal and raise a dispute they will get their money back, but I am not sure about the time limit on making a paypal claim

Hiya, if it does end up getting returned to you because the buyer was out then that's not your issue & if she wants it re-sent she would need to pay the P&P again as it's not fair on you to be out of pocket.

Surely they would hold it at her local PO??

I would think you are entitled to charge again for postage? I assume she knew that delivery would have to be signed for?

If she refuses to pay the extra, then you just refund her the price of the item?

the trouble is she can prove its not received so if she paid via paypal she will get a refund

signed for to post it back is 6.30

tempted to just refund her and re-list but will still be 11.00 out of pocket plus the fees --it was sent back by courier -this puts me off selling abroad
how much are you insured for if not signed for internationnally ie with just the proof of post?

I don't think it's unsent, so how can she make a claim? If you have the original recipts adn you have her email saying she was out of towm it shouldn't be a problem.

If she wants it sent back she needs to pay again. And you can prove it was sent already.

Anyway don't the post office keep the item for 3 weeks or so? They don't automatically send it back to sender on first failed delivery.

its 45 days after you received payment that she can file a claim.

It doesnt matter if you can prove the item is sent you have to prove it is delivered its unfair but but not a lot you can do unfortunately

But if she has the email saying that it was sent back to her because she (the buyer) was out of town) then surely that's proof that it was delivered but she wasn't there to receive it?

Send her a message asking for further postage costs and when she has paid you will resend. If she refuses, do not resend it. She may open a dispute with Paypal but they will contact you for info and should go in your favour if you've sent it once.

I got the parcel back late last week and had to sign for it --

I have e-mailed her just waiting to see what she says .
It was over 45 days ago but the buyer can claim through her credit card through paypal if over that time limit cant she?
I sent it as advertised, registered it has come back unopened. If the buyer wont pay postage again I guess she will get a refund at some point and I am only the postage out of pocket plus fees as I can list it again.
