I won a travel cot on ebay for 99p. The seller isn't replying to my emails.

I found a travel cot nearby that needed a clean but I thought it would be ok until I can get mine back from SILs in manchester. I bid on it and won it for 99p, she invoiced me for £15.99 and will not answer my emails about collection. I don't know what to do.

how bizarre. is the £15 for postage?
did she say pick up was ok?

Maybe she forgot to put a reserve on it?

Did the advert read Pick up Only? Or was postage only option? Did you clear it with her about picking up prior to bidding (and winning)?

Have you paid?
(dont unless you had agreed to local pickup, as cash on collection is the usual method)

I forgot to ask before the auction ended. I assumed that collection would be ok, because its such a big item. Is it worth me just forgetting it, she can't neg me, but I will get a strike..

Can you email her again and ask nicely if you can pick it up? Saves her wrapping and going to the post office.

I am an idiot, I saw it finishing in a few minutes, bidded and won, didn't think that collection would be an issue.. I would prefer collection if it was mine, as then I don;t have to go out with it lol

It all depends, would you pay 15.99 for a second hand travel cot? How much is it really worth for you?

well, quite. as I say, give her a chance to e-mail you back and hopefully she'll say you can come and get it.

Sounds like she is annoyed that it went for 99p and wants to make some money on delivery as a courier won't be £15.
On principle I wouldn't pay if you want to pick up, but I learned the hard way to check first before assuming I could collect. Cos some people just won't let you.
I read your post and thought 'oh sparkly can have my travel cot cheap' but then I realised the sil that I have taken stuff to before for you - is the one near me who already has your travel cot

If she insists on the £15 postage can you not just pay her the 99p you have bid and tell her to keep it?

yes Flibbertyjibbet, its my SIL near you that has my cot lol!! we went to see them and collected some rabbits from another Mnetter, and couldn't get the cot back in to bring it home. So it stayed there until they come down or we go up.. But with the six weeks hols coming up we need a travelcot for Callum so we can take the kids away.

My travel cot is currently linked to the pop up tent via the pop up tunnel and they get in it via the stepladders that I left up in our bedroom by accident the other week!
