Hello all,

I am pre-empting this a bit but have to say I am utterly shocked.

I sold an item last week, it sold early Wednesday morning on a BIN.

I didn't hear from the buyer for a few days & she eventually emailed saying she would be posting payment to me on Monday. I replied saying I would post the item to her the day I recieved the payment (which is what I always try to do).

I'm currently 33+2 weeks pregnant on 2am Tuesday morning I was rushed to hospital in prem labour.

Thankfully I was very well taken care of, they managed to stop labour & was discharged last night.

Needless to say no-one had been home to recieve/post the post & had a few things to get sent off so logged into Ebay this morning & emailed the relevent buyers to advise that I would get items posted out today.

Now....the above buyer emailed me back saying she was not impressed & that as she posted payment to me on Monday she expected her item to have been posted to her by now & that I needed 'to get it sorted' as she is going away & needs the item (it's a snack tray for a pram).

To say I am shocked at her response is beyond me but hey ho. DH popped to the post office today, collected her payment as it needed to be signed for & posted her item off.

I have a very strong feeling she is going to leave me neg/neutral feedback - bang goes my 100% - so if she does what would you do?

I had no control over the situation & emailed the seller asap to let her know what was happening.

Needless to say I have now removed all the items I was selling incase something like this happens again.

Sorry for the essay!!

let me get the time scale right here,

she bought it last Wednesday, but didn't pay you.

She said she would send payment on Monday.

You have posted the item today - that's Thursday.

Even without the prem labour and rushing into hospital and stuff, that's only a day late in any event.

If she does leave you bad feedback, I think it's totally unreasonable, you've done everything you can.

Glad you are ok at the moment, fingers crossed that it doesn't happen again.

Try not to worry about this woman, if she wanted it urgently, she should have paid you urgently, shouldn't she!

Joolyjoolyjoo · 19/06/2008 17:21

She sounds like a silly moo. Try not to let her worry you! As previous poster said, she should have paid you sooner!!

MummyLovesPrams · 19/06/2008 17:30

Thanks ladies - they were my thoughts too!!

Had she of paid immediately I could understand her being cross but that fact is it took her almost a week to even send me the payment!!

I was just so incredibly shocked by her reply to me - I would have thought as a fellow mummy she would understand that my main priority is my baby!

I was so tempted to reply saying that had she of needed urgently perhaps she should have sent the payment quicker but thought better of it ;)

Thanks again ladies

So you were rushed to hospital, discharged Tuesday morning and still managed to get it posted today? I should certainly say you did your best! If the buyer is not impressed then that's her problem.

Can you still comment on feedback? I know the rules have changed a bit. I know it doesn't help your 100% but if she does leave neg or neutral just leave a brief response explaining what happened.

I'm sure any one reading the feedback will think she is unreasonable for complaining about 'late' postage in those circumstances.

onelittlelion · 19/06/2008 17:36

If I read "Unreasonable Buyer - Informed had been rushed to hopsital in prem labour - Payment received Tues and still posted Thurs" or similar I think I'd understand and be more than happy to buy from you! She sounds awful!

forevercleaning · 19/06/2008 17:39

it still took her longer to pay you than you took to send it off. she is a wanker.

If she says anything like that on feedback you use the above in response!

hope all ok with baby

onelittlelion · 19/06/2008 17:44

That's much better and to the point!
And I hope you and baby are doing well too!

If a seller has less than 100% feedback, I always read what was said in the feedback and what reply the seller gave to it. Usually you can tell when the buyer is being an arse!
Congratulations btw, my ds3 was born at 32 weeks and is a fabulous chatty 3 year old now!

MummyLovesPrams · 19/06/2008 19:54

Bless you all - thanks so much ladies

I'm just a tad emotional at the moment so probably over reacting but felt so shocked by her reply to me that I was utterly lost for words - I just couldn't believe someone could be so cruel!

Glad to say baby seems fine - he's wriggling away today the little money

Chip - so lovely to hear your baby is now a fab chatty 3 year old - nice to hear positive prem birth outcomes

Xx
