If you bought something described as good condition but

it had a tiny little hole in it which hadn't been mentioned, would you complain?

DS2 is selling an old football shirt like this and there are currently 2 bidders. I've told him to add a mention about the hole but he hasn't (not sure he knows how to, he is an ebay virgin!)

Also somebody has asked him about holes and he has replied honestly but he hasn't put the Q&A on the page (I don't think he knows how to do that either).

It finishes about 8pm tomorrow - should I sit on him until he does something about it? I can see him getting the money and sending it off and then having to pay it all back...

Definitely worth changing the description just to add that he has just noticed a tiny hole - then at least he's covered, he'll just end up refunding if he gets a seller who notices it.

Is it easy to add things? I've never sold anything so I don't know how.

I'd be tempted to email the buyer and say you've just spotted the hole whilst wrapping the item.

If they want to withdraw you'll understand, then you can relist the item honestly.

If the buyer gets it and complains about the hole and you don't refund, you'll end up being booted off Ebay.

If you accept payment by Paypal and the buyer decides to do a chargeback, due to item not matching description, you could end up losing your money AND having a £13 charge levied at you.

I find honesty pays...or at the very least, it helps me sleep at night

He finally decided to take my wise and wonderful advice late last night (very late last night, I had no idea what time I started this thread or what time he went to bed ) and added the hole; the then winning bidder had bid before the addition, but a new one has come in over him since then so does that let him off the hook?

He changed the description from:

Condition: Very Good

to

Condition: Very Good, very small hole in bottom left corner

I hope that'll cover him?

(He's doing very well, he bought the shirt from a second-hand shop for about £2 and it's at over £30 )
