I'm the seller.

Sold an item and sent it. Buyer said not received. We both waited to see if it would be returned to me. It wasn't.

The emails then turn a bit accusing that I didn't get the right price and I wanted to relist. Erm - no item to relist mate. I said could they prove they didn't have the item.

I've since spent quite a bit of time trying to track down, and I've done a refund and have sent the cert to royal mail. Buyer now wants the cert - I don't have it - why does he need it if I've refunded him? Worse still, they say they want the item but it transpires that royal mail don't actually perform a search on lost non - recorded items. Basically - he won't get it.

What have I done wrong - have spent hours calling po, sorting office and finding out what to do. Have refunded the guy as I'm the seller and the buyer shouldn't pay and not receive and i think it's my responsibility to claim the money back. How do I get them off my back. I've spent more time on the item that it was worth. But the emails are getting spooky. Like I'm pulling a fast one - they've got their money back - I don't have an item to relist!!!

What do I do? Or have I followed wrong procedure?

Seems to me you are a very reasonable seller indeed - if he emails again my advice would be to send a polite email saying that as you have refunded him you will now take the responsibility for dealing with the PO - you are sorry that the PO have let you both down and hope he finds the item elsewhere - after that I do believe that you do not need to keep the conversation going if you are uneasy also block them as a bidder for the future.

Thanks

I was starting to feel really harrassed. What I don't like is the insinuations all the time - right from the outset!

I think they are spoiling for a fight actually and I know there are spooky people out there - i just feel like I've done something horribly wrong!

Agh

I'd also complain about him to ebay- after all, he's had the money back (and if you ask me he's probably also got the item....)

If you have refunded i would ignore his e-mails, he cant have the item because you dont have it.
