Opinions please: partial refund, replace with £10 extra cost or get them stretched?

Ok I bought the most gorgeous pair of boots, I'm a size 8 1/2 so thought I'd go for the size 9 for comfort. . . they arrived yesterday, I tried them on and they are so tight across the top of my feet that my feet cramp up really badly (obviously through lack of blood flow!). I paid £25 + £5 p+p, I've never paid more than £15 for a pair of shoes which means all my shoes are basic and not exactly suitable for a ball I'm going to on the 20th June.

I've been emailing the seller this afternoon asking what to do, I've found my options are as follows:
I spend an extra £10 and get the next size up (a size 10!!!), £5 to send them back and £5 for the new pair to be sent to me.
I receive a partial refund of £25 and look elsewhere (which I probably wont find anything, in a proper size 9, that I'll wear more than the once as I don't do heels or fancy things like that and these boots are really nice but fancy enough to get away with it), which means I would've spent £5 on nothing.
Or I get my friend's shoe stretcher and risk it?
What are your opinions please?
Thanks.
