Best way to sell a collection of books.

I have about 38 of these plus 5 which have writing on the 'this book belongs' to page.

How should i list them? Separatly or in one big lot?
What sort of price should i put on if buy it now? Or is bidding the best way?

Books such as these don't really bring anything on their own as the classics have had so very many print runs over the years. As a collection you may just may find a buyer.

A few weeks ago i noted a lot of 50 classics (not matching and not in good condition) go for a BIN of £14.99 (I noted this because I have a massive box of similar myself and one day, oh yes indeedy, one day I will list them)

I quick look now at completed listings for similar, doesn't look too bright. One lot went for £11 but it did contain some crackers - I wish I'd bid myself tbh.

I'd be tempted to list at BIN £14.99 or maybe BIN £20 and accept offers.

use words such as collection in the title and if you have the time see if any of the titles get much interest and use this as a keyword in the title eg- Large Collection matching classics Blyton etc.

Sell them well in the description - a great collection for the young avid reader...quality writing in beautiful matching illustrated hardcovers.
If they are illustrated mention the illustrator and colour plates etc.

Thanks for that. Not much for a nice collection like these. I think nearly all are un read. My Mum collected them for me when i was younger but i didn't get round to reading them!

I have recently had a similar experience with a lovely collection of books. - A set of 50 hardback literature from 1935 in mint condition - value? less than the postage. I have decided to keep and enjoy them myself and replace the the mis-match collection I have already. I will prob get more for the mis-match than for this lovely collection.

Please don't take my word for it on your collection - have a go at a higher price?

The problem, as someone told me, is that matching collections such as these are too far from the author to hold any worth. saying that, there are always exceptions...
