EBay postage

I’ve never posted with this new system and sold an item which can be sent as a small parcel

I was given little choice but it’s £3.38 and postman/courier collects free of charge apparently but it’s unclear if this covers the postage amount allocated itms.

i think it used to be £3.20 for a small parcel but I would pay for it through RM myself

anyone had this experience

hoping I’m not out of pocket

thanks

Can’t help with your query, but I’m on the buyer end - just bought something which cost ‘x plus y shipping’, paid ‘x+y’, all seemed ok but the purchase summary shows ‘x+y+shipping’ - most confusing as the shipping has already been paid! Didn’t realise a new system was in place.

New system is called 'simple postage' but is far from it. I've made all my items 'free p & p' which of course means it factored into my asking price. Ebay then top that up with their fee that buyers now pay.

This is a really smart idea. I have been selling things recently and every time I go to post them it turns out that the box is bigger than I expected and doesn't work with the price that they charged. I end up going to the royal mail to book it myself and then they have no way for me to tell the system that I booked it.

This way you have of offering free P&P would work for me if I just increase the price a bit. That way if I get the postage cost wrong, then I can just pay more for postage and lose a bit of money that I would have got for the item.

I think I will try doing this too.

I will feed back.
