Broken pram

I sold a pram on ebay - £143 +£20p&p (parcelforce) Insured upto £150

The buyer has contacted me today to say that the pram has arrived damaged - handle broken, something else snapped.

I have contacted Parcelforce, they have said its a case of filling in a claim form, submitting it and waiting 2-3weeks.

I'm a bit confused as to what it going to happen now.

Assuming I get £150 compensation from them -

Does buyer get £143(cost of pram)? £150(insured amount)? £163(cost +p&p)?

I'm guessing she is going to ask for her money back straight away as she has already started with the sob stories..but I dont refund her until I get money from courier?

Do parcel force take ownership of the pram? They have said they may want to see it but not definately? If they dont take it does they buyer keep it? It came with footmuff/covers/bumper bar/raincover that could be salvaged and sold for probably £75.. does it have to be sent back to me? Who pays for this?

While I would love to giver her the benefit of the dobt, I'm just having a funny feeling about this one - if she gets full refund from me and gets to keep the pram then she's laughing.... assuming that it is actually broken

Suggest to her that she returns the pram to you and you will refund the money right away.

Parcel force say that he pram needs to be at delivery address for inspection.

Also - would cost £20 to send back - probably more since she would ned to include the original packaging plus new.

I would pay her £25 for her to send it back by paypal (stating in the message that it needs to be at your address for inspection and that it must be insured delivery(

Do not refund the actual amount until you have it from parcel force. Especially don't refund until you have it back. She could be dodgy and not even send it back or insure it. You must protect yourself or you will be down the money and the pram. Ebay rules say to do it like that and you can quote the necessary parts of the rules to her if she gets arsey.

Ask for photos!

i would ask for photos and then explain its in the couriers hands.was it packaged well?

also i would check her feedback to see if shes maybe done this before.
