No contact from buyer for an item for collection - what do do

I sold a desk on ebay. The auction ended last Saturday. I contacted the buyer to thank them for their successful bid and asked them to let me know when they might like to collect the desk. No reply. On Monday, they paid, so I messaged to say thanks for paying, when would you like to collect. No reply. On Wednesday, I sent a brief message with details of the area to collect from and asked if they had any idea when they would like to collect. No reply. I've just messaged this morning to ask if they could let me know when they will be collecting.

I can see that the buyer is active on ebay, as they have items up for sale and they have lots of feedback, some of it very current. I'm not sure what to do. How long do I leave it for them to collect? Or do I just refund them and relist the item? Never had this happen before.

If they’ve paid I’d just wait. People can be strange or just very busy.

This happened to me a few years ago. Also a desk. The buyer did contact me to make, then cancel, several appointments. He then told me to keep his money, so I did and resold the desk. I ended up making more than the cost of the desk in the first place.

Back to this again! I've now had contact from the buyer and on 3 occasions they have said they will come and collect and each time it is a no show. Can I refund them and re-list it. I just want the desk gone!!!!!! It has been over two weeks now since the item originally sold to them.

Stop asking them when they can collect. Give them a deadline for collection, and tell them if they haven’t collected it by then, then you will have to refund and relist.

Thanks @19lottie82 . Gave them a deadline, it passed. I relisted and then they messaged me to offer cash for next day pickup!!!!! Not sure what's going on there but I declined 🙄.
