The item only went for £6 so it's not worth the fees and plus the item is collection only so I can give no proof that the buyer has taken it.

other than being a bit snotty with her can I do anything?

well, you can and you can't.

recent changes mean you have to offer paypal for all listings. This said, accepting paypal for collections is a silly thing to do - as you say, you have no tracking number to offer paypal should they open an item not received dispute.

I personally would; refund the paypal payment and send a message saying that it is cash on collection, as stated on the listing. tell them, that if they are not prepared to pay on collection would they rather you mutually agree to withdraw from the transaction.

You will have no ebay back-up regarding this, and you are open to the buyer instigating disputes, and leave negs etc.

It's up to you at the end of the day. maybe start of with polite messages and see how it goes.

If it clearly said on the listing that it was cash on collection, could you refund the Paypal payment as ask to pay when collecting?

ConnorTraceptive · 14/05/2008 10:39

If I refund do I not pay the original paypal fee then?

I'll send a polite message and see how we get on

I think (but I am not sure) that you get the fee back.

sixlostmonkeys · 14/05/2008 11:06

if you 'refund' rather than send payment, you won't lose anything

no you dont lose fees if you refund pp sort that out
