How on earth do I obtain a refund?

I have been buying from eBay for years and never, ever had issues with refunds previously.but I am trying to deal with an unscrupulous seller and eBay system won't allow me to request a refund.

I bought and paid for some trousers on 03 March but the seller has never posted them. I tried to request a refund on 17 March but the system wouldn't allow me to request this as there is a generic message at the top of the page just saying "Some items are delayed." etc. As there was still no sign of the item being posted I then tried to cancel the order. (During this time I have tried to contact the seller on several occasions but just been ignored). My cancellation request has just been declined stating that I should receive the item by 07 March.😡 Tried again to submit a refund request and STILL the system won't allow me to request. I still have the stupid message saying about some items being delayed. Item still hasn't been sent.

I know some of you are real experts with eBay. Please tell me how I can gain a refund when I can't even submit a refund request? The seller obviously has no intention of posting these trousers or responding to me and although not madly expensive I still want my money returned.

Go through PayPal

I thought it would be too soon for PayPal as the item is supposedly protected by eBay's money back guarantee. 🙄. I am concerned that PayPal may refuse to refund because of this.

Thanks so much for responding BaggyPJs. This one has me totally stumped. I just don't understand why I have this " Some items are delayed" message when it's obvious the blasted things have never been sent. 😡

You can raise a dispute with PayPal because the seller has ignored your messages. The due date is past. PayPal are much more effective than Ebay.

Again, thanks so much BaggyPJs! Really appreciate this.

I feel like a bit of a tight arse as they were less than £20 but I'll be damned if I will allow this seller to get away with this. Her next "Victim" may not be able to afford to lose this money. Don't know what this fresh hell is with eBay but I shall stop buying from there if this is some new "Loophole" to avoid refunding in genuine cases.

Will definitely try the Paypal route.👍
