Does anyone sell anything on Vinted? Just looking into it. Any advice? EBay or Vinted?

I sell as a business on both. What are you looking to sell?
Vinted is definitely more popular now, great for clothes, if something is going to sell it usually sells quickly. People want stuff cheap. Vinted is run by bots and their customer service is terrible.
Ebay is a bit more involved, but you get a better price. I don't put clothes on there anymore as all the buyers are on vinted. You can call them and speak to a human if you run into any problems.

I'm looking to sell clothes. I have quite a few designer brands or vintage stuff.

I sell outgrown kids clothes and list the same item on both ebay and Vinted. I typically make more sales on eBay than Vinted. Vinted people seem to want things rock bottom prices whereas because eBay has better customer service and better buyer protection, I suspect people are willing to pay a little more.

YourAmplePlumPoster · 15/03/2025 20:11

So you recommend ebay then?

I've only sold on ebay. I've looked at vinted but the prices look v low to me.

I assume vinted is easier to list but don't know.

Vestiaire Collective is good for designer although you do pay a potion of your sale to them which you don’t on EBay/ Vinted for clothing

YourAmplePlumPoster · 16/03/2025 19:45

OK thanks. Taking this on board now.

I'll do a bit of research on YouTube.

Vinted is basically an online jumble sale with clothes selling for a tiny fraction of what they cost new. EBay is a better bet for higher value items but listing them is more of a pain. Vestiaire for designer pieces: even with their cut you still end up with more than you would have from eBay or Vinted.

strawlight · 08/07/2025 00:36

EBay for good quality or designer stuff, Vinted if you’re happy with a few quid.

The eBay app has made it much easier to list and there are no seller fees any more, a la Vinted.

As a buyer, I've bought the odd thing off vinted. Never more than £5 an item though as so many people I know have been scammed or had issues on there and customer service is apparently terrible. Ebay, I've bought loads, including high value items (e.g. one item was £1500, although it wasn't clothing). I know lots of other people who shop the same way, so it sounds like eBay is a better site for what you're wanting to sell.

YourAmplePlumPoster · 08/07/2025 21:06

I've heard bad reviews of Vinted too so will be avoiding that.

Though I only bought one item off Ebay a long time ago. A Louis Vuitton purse which turned out to be a fake but I did get a refund. Which put me off Ebay after that.

I sell on vinted - I made £821 in august and I was only really active for 2 of them as we were away and had a few day trips planned. I've joined in with some others to do a Vinted £100+ Selling challenge for september and hope to improve on that with the motivation of the group.

HundredMilesAnHour · 27/08/2025 13:19

I buy (and sell) designer items on Vinted. I find EBay more old-fashioned and quite frankly, overpriced. Things seem to sit on EBay for a lot longer but I get the impression and I get the impression that it doesn’t have the reach it used to have. More and more people (in the UK at least) seem to be using Vinted. I also think it’s harder to find things on EBay as it’s so full of tat from China.

Quite a few people list the same item on both so maybe that’s an option for you to try and then decide if you have a preference.

YourAmplePlumPoster · 27/08/2025 15:58

Have you had any problems like people not paying?
