AI Descriptions

Anybody getting seriously fucked off with these now?

It seems the majority of sellers are now using them and I cannot for the life of me understand why. As a buyer all I want to know is a few details specific to your item such as age and condition. I do not need the general make and model written out in some wanky salesman patter. I know what the item is! I am looking at the fucking thing!

Rant over.

Agree! I don't use them for this reason, and stick to the specifics you mentioned.

I agree and will join in your rant - I was goint to start a post about this topic myself.

They are completely pointless and very annoying as they don't actually tell you anything about the product. I will sometimes contact a seller to tell them that the AI description is useless and ask for more details. They always include the term 'elevate your wardrobe/lifestyle' which means bugger all.

I wish sellers would realise that they add nothing to their listing - in fact I will sometimes deliberately avoid listings with AI descriptions as they annoy me so much. Just one line with the condition and measurements is better than the mindless drivel that's been composed.

I have also given feedback to eBay - not that they would take any notice but feel the need to rant.

AI-generated descriptions are often used by sellers because they save time and ensure consistency across listings

I agree OP, it’s so generic. Every item of clothing opens with “ elevate your wardrobe with this fabulous “ …

But they don't.

I have seen many listings where the item and heading description are completely different. I have sometimes asked the seller to clarify and they have told me that the description is what AI suggested. Despite the fact that the item they are selling is made by a different company and that company name is written on the product and evident in their photographs.

I honestly do not understand how some people survive from day to day without constant supervision.
