I have decided to declutter our lives and I think ebay might be the best way to reuse our "stuff". I have bought numerous things on ebay but I haven't sold before. Any tips before I dive in?

Look at completed listings to see how much your stuff generally goes for or even if it sells at all.
get your kitchen scales out and a price list from the PO and check out how much it will cost to post and then add a few pence for packaging.
Include postage for overseas, use airmail not surface mail - block countries you don't post to in your preferences.
Take good clear photos - any extra photos use photobucket (it's free)
Give a good clear description.
Pack well, post promptly, keep proof of postage incase you need to claim.
wait for the money to roll in....

I usually put in my listing that postage is the price of the stamp, plus packaging "if you are not happy with the postage please dont bid" Hopefully that heads off the f*ckwits who buy it them whinge about postage

list on thurs early evening for 10 days
then they end sunday
don't list at silly hours like 2am as you want your listing to close when people are awake

I use auctiva - you get free photos and a listing with a pretty border. You can also schedule auctions for free, so you can list at any time, but start them at a good time (e.g. Thursday at 8.45pm for a 10 day auction).
