Its a long shot, but I know there are some muso's and wives of muso's on here ....help!

exH dropped the gear off for me to sell instead of paying me back the money he owes. I have looked at similar items on ebay already and the guitar is not too much of a problem I don't think, but what on earth can I say about the other things? wondered if anyone had any tips?
thank you!

Hello!

Could you give me a wee rundown on what is there?

misscathcart · 04/05/2008 14:16

Hi!
well I have no idea what I'm looking at really but here goes:
Its a Yamaha SG2000 guitar made in Japan, serial number (i think thats what it is on the back of the neck) QMpo47E. It is what I think is called Tobacco wood...? Bought last April for about £1800 and comes with case. I have been told it is worth about £1000 now?

A Marshall 1960 vintage cab. bought last year for £389

A Peavey 6505 head (bought last year for £350-ish)and peavey remote switch that has two buttons, one says 'remote' the other says 'switch' - I don't know what that is at all!

I really wish now I had taken more of an interest in this stuff when we were together! he won't help me sell it now the git!
Any interest or advice would be great!

actually that doesn't add up right as I lent him £3500 to get all that so must have been more for something! oh well, I know I won't get anywhere near that now!

The yamaha would get probably £800-£1100, if its in really good condition.

The Marshall cab would probably fetch around £150-£200, again, if its in good condition.

The Peavey stuff probably won't get you much, i'm afraid. Not sure what you mean by remote switch, I assume you mean footswitch? They aren't worth much really.

None of it will be hard to sell though, its all decent kit.

HTH

thank you
Would you say ebay would be the best bet for this sort of thing?

Yes, ebay would be good, if you could be bothered to go to a specialist music site or dealership then you would probably get more money, but ebay is definitely a lot easier.

Good luck
