There is no rule for when they do 5p days etc, you just get a message a few days before.
I have found a distinct connection between cheap listing days and times when ebay are struggling. If there is a seller boycott for eg you can bet ebay will announce a cheap listing day, thus keeping the figures up for the shareholders.
I wish they would have a set time for these days then I can work to avoid them...

Not as much as one a month. It just appears to be at random. Probably when they feel numbers are down. It often seems to be a Thursday and I am never ready!

6LM, do you make a point of avoiding cheap listing days? I always figured you'd have more competition, so best not to list then, as even the full the listing fee is small compared to a good sale price.

But a good time to pick up bargains, obviously.

AgonyBeetle, I'm in the U. S., but here most big, experienced sellers avoid cheap listing days like the plague, unless they have a hard to find item with little competition. Many have charted what they sell for what price and compare it to when it isn't 10 cent listing day, and they always end up making less than normal that week.

mumofdjandbabies · 04/05/2008 18:49

wow i didnt realise they werent worth doing!

I just find the fees so high for ebay do you all?

I am shocked to see what I am owing sometimes when I feel I have made nothing lol!!!

DG, that's what I'd figured. MJB, I only list things I'm pretty confident will sell, after a while you get to know which things go well as individual items and which are better as bundles.
