can't withdraw funds on eBay

I don't use eBay very often and I have over £500 sitting in my eBay account, they used to pay me automatically within a couple of days of selling, but they Eem to have changed the system.

According to the eBay articles I can withdraw the funds on demand by clicking on a tab - only problem is, there is no tab!

Any clues as to what is going on. It's really off putting. I have been using eBay intermittently for over 20 years !

Sorry I don't sell on Ebay but have you got your bank account/PayPal linked to your account and the relevant documents up to date.

With a lot of financial things you seem to regularly have to upload a photo I'd and proof of address so maybe you should check if you need to do that.

Ebay changed in recent years so that if you are a new seller or haven’t sold for a while they withold your money even if your buyer has already left positive feedback.
It is awful and since it happened to me (no warning that this was now policy) I would never sell through ebay again.
They held my funds for a month. I complained but got nowhere.

I managed to get my money out. Apparently it's quite a common issue, and I only found a solution by looking on the eBay message board where loads of other people had the same issue, and someone posted a helpful link which worked.
but it's put me right off selling anything there again.
What are the best alternatives?
