a buyer wins my handbag. I send her an invoice - and on the listing I state I only accept paypal. She then asks me to send her photos of the inside of the bag and whether there are x,y,z straps included. Then she says she cant pay by paypal as she has a problem with her account. She can send a cheque or make a bank transfer on friday. She has some negative feedback about not paying and I am suspicous. Frannkly i just want to re list the bag as there were loads of bidders. Where do i stand as a seller ? How long do i have to give her to pay ?
going rapidly off ebay, every transaction a problem.

I would ask for a cheque and send the photos, that will be just as quick as relisting and filing a dispute - mind you wait til cheque clears though. She has no comeback if she pays by cheque apart from feedback so if she's going to be difficult then a cheque is better for you.

Thing with a cheque, though is that even when it's cleared the money can still disappear again from your account. I would ask for a postal order in the post if I were you to the amount she agreed to pay. Then send her her bag by return.

The cheque money can't disappear unless it's a fraudulent cheque. You must wait whatever the bank says is the clearing date though and not the funds-available-from date, usually 10 full days.

its because of all this cheque ambiguity that I state I only want paypal and that was made abundantly clear in the listing. Its SOO annoying. I dont want a cheque and I am going away on Monday for a week so just want the transaction done and dusted. Am I able to re list on the basis she cant pay by paypal ?

yes you are as you made it clear in the listing

thanks Laurie, I hoped that was the case. i haven't got time to be going through all this pallaver (sp ?) with every single ebay transaction. Time for me to get stroppy I think.
