I've lost faith in Vinted and don't really know the other outlets.

No I don't. Don't want to get messed around - is it good if things go wrong? Thanks for the suggestion.

I haven't had things go wrong. Just make sure when sending items you keep proof of postage and give them the option for paying for tracking .

I'd be tempted to take it into a local branch of somewhere like Designer Exchange

SleepingisanArt · 08/10/2024 14:37

Look at somewhere like Designer Exchange or We Buy Vintage (the latter will buy from you rather than you having to market and sell it).

FactyFrances · 08/10/2024 14:45

Look at Vestiaire Collective if it's a high-value piece

Summerhillsquare · 08/10/2024 14:48

Marketplace worth a go if you live in a populous area, cash on collection and they can check it before handing over.

Divebar2021 · 08/10/2024 14:50

I would also go to Vestiare collective which is set up to sell higher end items.

TheFlis · 08/10/2024 14:53

Stock X is also good for higher value stuff, DH has sold a few pairs of limited edition trainers through them.

PenguinLove1 · 08/10/2024 16:15

Try selling to Addicted to Handbags

How does authentication work with them? I don't have receipts, but I bought from Selfridges/Harrods or somewhere similar in late 80s/90s.

Tell us what it is then! Any pics? Just so we can advise properly of course!

peonym · 08/10/2024 17:36

Vestaire collective!

Nooooooooo never make tracking an “option” it should be default. If the parcel goes missing it’s you that will lose out, not the buyer.

Proof of postage only pays out £20 maximum compensation, so it’s fine for a cheap item, but for a Gucci bag? No.

Lux Colective

SleekWhisky · 30/10/2024 04:06

I sold a 17 treats old pretty battered Gucci handbag for £230 last week on Vinted. Don't worry about authentication, Vestiaire are experts.
Such a good site for high value items.

SleekWhisky · 13/01/2025 18:13

Vestiaire, I sold a 20 year old battered one for £270
