Hi I've sold 3 things now on eBay and the postage has been deducted from me instead of the seller I must be doing something wrong when it says buyer has bought postage it shows me the amount and says I need to buy - I assumed the fee would come from the fee they'd paid but no it's deducted from my sale . Really confused . I much prefer Vinted

When you list items you need to work out how much to add to the price to cover postage. I weigh and measure my items and work out an approx cost using my preferred parcel service and put that in the postage section of the listing. I think eBay put a default amount on for you if you don't enter anything yourself, but it's their estimate and can be too little/too much.

You have probably selected seller paying for postage rather than buyer. Depending on what I'm selling I might or might not pay the postage

Yes I did do that and the buyer paid but the postage fee has been taken out of my sale . I've switched to free postage and upped the price for my other things . I've got a screen shot of the last sale which I thought I'd done right but instead of being credited 6.50 eBay has paid me £3.81

Did you ever solve this OP? I am in a similar situation now and confused!

It's now eBay's 'Simple postage'. AI works it out and you are obligated to use it unless anyone knows a way round it? Loads of complaints about it online, I don't know if it's always correct tbh, I'm confused too. Im yet to use it and see if the buyer gets charged postage or seller or if it can be set so buyer pays it. Also the buyer protection is putting buyers off. People are leaving eBay in droves.
Might list something today as a learning curve.

You can see from the screenshot they've deducted for a postage label. That's a prepaid label you print to post the item.

I also found it confusing. I thought I'd chosen for the buyer to pay the postage and priced the item accordingly, but then they deducted it from my sale.

It still continues to baffle me, I’ve turned off evri because it’s not available where I live , the buyer was still able to choose it at a cost to them of £3 ish and a cost to me of £5 . I sent with Royal Mail in the end using my own label which cost £4.
