This is a funny one. Just wondered what the worst delivery ever was for mumsnetters! . My daughter has just got a job in London with a major company. They sent her a gft of a note book,
water bottle and Bento box. Not a small parcel and not'light'. My husband was in the house , ill with covid. Hot weather and downstairs top windows open. Husband asleep. Parcel lobbed through window and landed on windowsill! Can anyone beat that for a delivery

I had one dropped through the bathroom window, and it landed in the toilet. The bathroom was at the back of the house, on the opposite side from the drive so he walked down the drive and all the way along the back of my house to chuck it in the bathroom window instead of ringing the doorbell because I was sitting in the living room and could have answered.

That is a bit bonkers but at least it arrived

These poor drivers don't really want to be revisiting for a second try I suppose

Especially in London where it's probably an absolute nightmare to get from one delivery to another

Worst delivery was when dcs passport was delivered to the wrong house. Right number but one street up, X Mount v X Grove type of name. Chap of the house had died a week earlier. No local family or anyway to contact anyone to do with the house. Holiday was in 4 weeks. It was in the covid open up so all passports were taking an age. We were shitting bricks that we wouldn't be able to get home and it'd be even longer to see family again.

Fist time in my life I actually considered commiting a crime.

I found a card through the door telling me there was a parcel in the box outside.

I eventually found it in the coal bin, hidden in the coal.

The next worst was a note through the door from Royal Mail telling me that my letter was at the Post Office as they were unable to deliver it as the house had no number. Yes I still can't work that one out either.

Oh I had DHL tell me that they couldn’t deliver my parcel because “my house was inaccessible”. I lived in London zone 2, on a main road (the road was not being dug up or anything, it was perfectly accessible. They just hadn’t tried).
