Marks on a dress

I have recently sold a dress on EBay. I had washed it and steam ironed it and sent it wrapped in tissue paper. The buyer has got back to me to say there are four small marks on it. What am I supposed to do? If they want a refund do I ask them to send the dress back as it is a lovely dress or do I knock some money off. There were no marks on the photos that I took of the dress when cleaned and then put on EBay. Me being cynical here but how do I now know that the buyer put the marks there? I'd appreciate any advice.

This happens too often, sadly & I write as seasoned Ebayer. Too many treat ebay as they do High St or on line retailers. Preserve your rating. Knock off a small amount, but in future, in details of any item, warn you keep raw files/untreated images as you are aware of 'bad buyers', then you can use original images as evidence. This keeps bad faith buyers away. I've had items worn, washed & returned, scrumpled up like an old rag. What's important is to maintain a good rating.

Thanks @Litgirl7. For a £15 dress how much would you take off? Is it easy to arrange a part refund with EBay. If they say they don't want to pay do I ask them to send the dress back?

I would hold your nerve and say they have to send it back for a refund sounds like they’re trying it on -

They have not sent any photos so I'm not going to offer anything. Strange people to swear about an item yet unable to provide evidence when asked...
