has anyone , or knows anybody who has bought one of these dresses direct from china/ japan ect. Im getting married in Oct and dont want to spend a fortune. They all look gorgeous, like the £500+ ones in the shops but for only @£100. I know the sizing wont be perfect and the feedback all seems to be good. Jusdt wondering if i should chance It!!! Thanks

I would be careful, I ordered a dress for my dd for a dance show a few years ago, it did not even click that it was from China as i did it in a rush. The workmanship was very poor and a few months later my paypal account was hacked into and thousands if pounds taken out of my account. The police seemed to think they had got my details from selling me this dress as the money was hacked into from China.

Just to add my two penneth in!! My friend ordered one of these wedding dresses from china (can't remember which one though) - looked beautiful on pic but when it arrived the quality was pretty horrific. Poor material and very badly made dress. Not wearable at all. And although measurements had been sent (she has HUGE boobs!) it didn't fit properly so would still have to have it altered. And as she hadn't long been ebaying she didn't even feel she could leave neg feedback as didn't want to ruin her score. Can't even send them back as that would cost yet more money - so no, imo not worth the risk.

Have you looked in TKMAXX? they get all kinds of wedding/all gowns in there and I know they do bigger sizes as my SIL(well almost)looked there and she's a size 22.

I had a beautiful evening gown made to measure in China off of Ebay and it was really curvy etc as I was prior to Dd ...it was gorgeous, but they didn't take into account that large hip size meant that I needed the zip opening longer so I could actually get it on...never worn it so do remember this if you have a made to measure gown.

Another positive story. I got mine on ebay for about £120 inc post. It was beautifully made, perfect size and looked FANTASTIC. Took about 5 weeks to be made..didn't need to be altered at all.

My dress came from a big seller who just does wedding and bridesmaid dresses and his username began with an X.... cant remember it exactly but shouldn't be hard to find.

The bridesmaid dresses came from a different seller and were £25 each..they were standard size rather than made to order but were gorgeous. Had to be taken up but I could do that myself.

Would do it again without hesitation.

Should add Im a size 20...I asked for mine to be laced at the back rather than zipped so the sizing was more flexible.
