eBay

I've messed up on ebay, sold something I don't have...

I bought an item. When I got it I realised it wasn't exactly what I wanted. Decided to list it to sell.

Did the listing, then read the description of the product on the sellers ebay again to make sure I'd not missed anything. Realised they accepted returns. Returned item. Went to delete my product but had nothing in my 'selling' section at all on the app, apart from a draft. So I assumed I'd not actually completed the listing, it was just a draft. So I didn't do anything else.

Following day I got a notification to say my item had sold! I am extremely confused as to what happened, why I couldn't see the listing under my 'selling' and just a draft was there. But what do I do now? I feel awful that someone is going to be disappointed. And I just don't know what to do next 😕

Can you refund the buyer?

You used to be able to cancel sales, is that not an option anymore?

I have sold something that I then couldn't find once someone bought it.
I refunded them, wrote an apology to them, and it was all fine!

There’s an option to cancel/refund the buyer, and one of the reasons is that it’s no longer available. It’s not that hard 🤔

You can just cancel the order. Don’t worry about it.

Thank you everyone. I just feel a bit horrible for inadvertently messing someone around.
