Tips to Enhance your eBay listings

posted this on another thread but thought it could be a good way to help show how to maximise your eBay listings and business…

Take excellent well lit pictures with no clutter or mess in the background.

Make sure your camera lens is clean before taking the pictures to avoid blurry images

Use up your whole picture allowance for each listing, every angle

If it’s clothing make sure it’s ironed and on a hanger, if it’s hard goods is it clean?

MY TITLES ARE IN CAPITALS AND RELEVANT TO LISTING

Be thorough in your listing description, size, weight, colour, any damage, condition, age, fabric type, measurements

Fill out all item specifics accurately

Have a reasonable turnaround time for delivery and stick to it

Send offers

Respond to any messages promptly

Keep your accounts up to date for paying your tax on sales

Put the size and other relevant info in the title to avoid wasting peoples time.
If your item is collect only put the first half of your postcode in the title as well.

Don't photograph small items against a busy-patterned fabric in loud colours (I'm amazed how many people do this, sometimes with a lot more of the fabric than the item in the picture).

Don't use extravagant, old-fashioned marketing BS in your listing. I'm seeing this more & more, & I wonder if some sellers are using AI to write it. So instead of saying what size an item of clothing is & what it's made of, you get something along the lines of, "Step out in style! This gorgeous garment will take you through your day feeling confident & fashionable... (carries on for 2 or 3 paragraphs without saying anything informative)".

Yes that's the AI writing the blurb, its awful.

I invested in a second hand tripod last year and its made all the difference to my photos.

@Thelnebriati Yes that's the AI writing the blurb, its awful.

Is it an ebay feature, or have a number of sellers spontaneously started doing it using apps or something elsewhere?

I don't make enough profit from my listings to do most of what OP recommends; would be 2-4x as much time

@ifIwerenotanandroid Its a new feature, when you fill in the blurb it offers the AI as an option. I tried it once out of curiosity and it explained why so many listings look like they were written by a bad auctioneer.
