Grrrrrr buyer playing silly buggers

I sold something on Ebay last week, and the listing clearly stated Paypal only.

The winning bidder contacted me afterwards to say she didn't have paypal, could she send a postal order.

I said ok. The a few days later she emailed to ask if I had sent it. I replied and said I hadn't received payment.

She said she had paid by paypal. Grrrr. I replied and said I had received no paypal funds from her and that she had told me she didnt have paypal.

Her reply was that she had sent cash.

Today and envelope arrives from her, with the invoice in, but no postal order. However, the envelope had been damaged in one corner. If she had put coins in, silly woman, they didn't get here.

Arrrggghhhh what should I do? I have emailed her to say what arrived today and to ask her what she wants to do with regard to payment. I don't want one silly person to ruin my 100% feedback.

There was a mibile number listed, and I have tried ringing it, but it says calls are not currently being taken.

And she had bought things since, and paid by Paypal!!

I'd contact e bay for advice.

Well, I thought the buyer was going to try and say she'd sent cash, but she responded to the unpaid dispute and paid straight away, through her own Paypal account!! Methinks she was trying to pull a fast one. I am sending her item off this afternoon, and by recorded post so she can't claim that she hasn't got it. God I do panic over these things. I haven't left her feedback and shan't do until I know she has got the item.

that's right - definitely no feedback until the transaction is complete - ie she has got the item and is happy with it and has let you know.

I'd add her to your blocked bidder's list pronto

I will block her, yes. She's sent me a message to say she hopes this hassle won't mean negative feedback!!!!!! OMG!!!

'eesh! - and from May she can try it on like this, leave a neg for you and there is nothing you can do about it.......

yeah that might be about the time that I stop using Ebay!!

From May sellers will not be able to leave neutral or negative feedback.
In cases such as this it could mean that a buyer messes you around, maybe demands freepost, demands refund whilst keeping item, or just about whatever they want to do and then for the heck of it leave the seller a neg in full knowledge they can't get a neg themselves

But why? What come back does a seller have against a dodgy buyer?

none. but recorded delivery will be essential I reckon, otherwise there is no real proof of postage.

Just found some info about the May changes here, if anyone is interested.

ah well it's not all bad then - I don't post abroad and it says that on my listings, but people sometimes bid. With the new rules, someone from abroad wont be able to bid on my things.

you can prevent people from outside the UK from bidding by checking this option in your preferences - block buyers from countries to which I do not post
