EBay is strange

I was watching a sofa on eBay, it was bidding starting at £99 but you could buy it now for £250… well it sold for £400 🤣 do people just like throwing money away? This isn’t the first time I’ve noticed stuff like this.

It may well end up being relisted.
Some people like to bump prices up to make the seller excited, but then never pay.
One I saw was for a perfume that started off at 99p. It went for ££’s. I can only assume the buyer didn’t read the full listing and realise it was a 5ml sample size!

They're gambling on the hope of paying less.

Once someone puts a bid on the buy it now option is cancelled so it goes to auction. Agree it sounds mad

I think this all the time! I’ve been looking for barbie bargains for Xmas and there are sooo many sellers asking for more money for a second hand version than if you bought the same thing new in the shops!
