Evri - do they ever refund??

I've had two eBay Evri disasters in the last month. Both eBay items that I was sending to the buyer. One Evri tracking says was damaged beyond repair and not delivered. The other seems to have disappeared at the buyer's local sorting office at the start of September.

I managed to thwart the chat bot and have a enquiry created for the damaged item. But all I have is an email from 3 weeks ago with my enquiry number. it doesn't show up in my Evri account and there seems no way of chasing it up other than bloody chatbot, which just wants my tracking number and then tells me the item was damaged!

The lost item, the chatbot just tells me they've flagged this with the local sorting office. Again no follow up from them for weeks.

In both cases I've had to refund the buyers so am £70 down.

Is there a straightforward way of getting refunded that doesn't involve bloody Ezra talking in circles??

I've never got a refund from them, I wish Trading Standards would sort them out. Whats the point of having tracking and insurance if its impossible to claim? There should be a link you can use on their website to get a refund after a set date.

Thank you for your reply. Yes I agree! Their whole 'customer service' system seems designed to stop anything moving forwards. I'm just going to go back to using Royal Mail.

Did you buy the postage using the link from within Ebay rather than directly through the Evri site?

If so you can raise the issue with Packlink and I have actually got a refund this way.

when they were Hermes they lost a racket in had sold on eBay and I was refunded.

I buy the insurance for this reason. They lose stuff all the time. Just sent some snazzy boots that I sold on eBay. Hope they made it.

Thank you @rhiannon1967. I did buy through Packlink. I'll try that route 👍

Yes I've done 2 claims through evri. It was quite straight forward just a form to fill out and attach evidence of the cost (I attached the eBay listing). In both cases I received over £100 and then several months later the item arrived back with me, all beat up and damaged having been on something of a journey! Very strange.
