Selling collection only but buyer wants to arrange courier.

Anyone had any experience of this?

I’m selling a table and chairs for collection only. I’ve had several messages from different people asking if they can arrange a courier (at their cost).

I feel like it will be a lot hassle negotiating with courier via buyer. Or will it be simple? Any pitfalls I should be aware of?

This happened to me. It was a door with stained glass in it. The buyer claimed the couriers had smashed the glass even though I packaged it very well. I ended up losing the money from the sale, the packaging and the courier costs. I think the buyer smashed the glass as only wanted the door anyway.

My dad has done this many times when buyer has sorted a courier and had no problems with collections. The only thing I would say avoid ones with zeroish feedback

Lots of people do not have a car, certainly not a car big enough for tables and chairs. I suspect most would be genuine
