...for my mum

She has recently set up paypal account, and is in the process of receiving her first payment through paypal.

The buyer has e-mailed her saying funds have not yet been claimed, but there is nothing showing on my mums paypal account.

The auction ended Monday night and the buyer says she sent funds straight away.

Is there something blinding obv we are missing?

tia

It should show in her account - you go into "transfer funds" to transfer money into bank.

Unless she paid by e-cheque you should be able to see it straight away?>

It may be that she has to actually accept the payment if it comes from a credit or debit card, as paypal tend to charge for these. I have never done it, but I know it has happened for some things I have paid for. It has told me that the payment is pending until accepted by the seller.
Instant payments (which are funded from bank accounts I think) should show up as a balance almost immediately.

thanks all

theres nothing under transfer funds

credit card payment makes sense, as she had a message flag up to upgrade her paypal account.

will try that now

Has your mum had an email from Paypal? Sometimes there's an email I think with details of how to claim the funds. Although I would have thought that if she logs onto Paypal and goes to Overview, it would show up in there anyway.

sixlostmonkeys · 30/01/2008 14:20

something should show, whether it has cleared or not.
does her paypal email address match the ebay email address?

runnyhabbit · 30/01/2008 14:33

theres still nothing there

would my mum have upgrade to a busines account to accept credit card payments?

and she hasn't had an e-mail from paypal telling her to claim funds

and both e-mail adresses match

Maybe she will then. I know I had to upgrade mine to be able to accept all types of payment when I was selling a few things on ebay.
