Anybody else had this issue & what are opinions of others please, am I in the wrong .I purchased some trainers ,I’ll post pictures ,colour in sellers photos to me looked a blue colour & reason why I purchased. I’m not disputing description but it’s not accurate as these trainers are silver glittery /sparkly not mentioned in description .Seller does not see why he should refund as he believes his photos accurately show item I received ! Wondering if he’s the crazy one or I am as I think colour wise they look totally different !

They do look different but not wildly different. If I was buying those trainers I would have googled the style etc as well to see what pictures the brand had of them. Also - seller description is perfectly accurate, no mention of the colour blue!

Gatekeeper · 28/09/2022 21:27

Description is 'black snd silver'. Why would you then buy them expecting them to be blue???

Sleepthief · 28/09/2022 21:27

Am I missing something? Doesn't he say in the title 'black/silver'?

Midnights · 28/09/2022 21:30

They do look different, but your photo is on a cool grey background (making them look more grey) and theirs is on a warmer background which looks darker grey. Tbh the title does make it very clear, and the advert photos don't look misleading to me.

Items ordered only (aside from exceptions like custom items) can always be returned due to distance selling regulations. It’s not “sold as seen” if you don’t get the opportunity to inspect before purchase in person. Ultimately just open a eBay case to get a refund as you have cancellation rights. You just may have to pay for return postage.

To me, it’s more of a question of dark grey cs light grey. There’s clearly a tonal difference. Don’t say blue though as it weakens your argument.

muchprefersummer · 28/09/2022 21:38

The description says black and silver. At that point, I would believe the colour and presume the picture was taken in a strange light.

greycrayon · 28/09/2022 21:44

They look grey to me in the photo - it’s just different lighting. The colour is in the description too.

1987qwerty · 28/09/2022 21:49

Description states black/silver. You assumed they were blue despite this. YABU

DelilahBucket · 28/09/2022 22:22

They look grey and given the title says black/silver I cannot understand why you would think they weren't. If it is a private seller you are not entitled to a return. If it is a business, you can legally return them under the Consumer Contract Regulations but at your own cost.

HollyJollyXmas57 · 28/09/2022 22:28

It literally says black and silver…

Gingefringe · 10/10/2022 21:06

It can sometimes be difficult show dark colours correctly. As the description does say black and silver, perhaps you should have questioned before buying.

19lottie82 · 10/10/2022 22:33

Items ordered only (aside from exceptions like custom items) can always be returned due to distance selling regulations.

only if it’s a business seller, private eBay sellers don’t have to abide by this.

LimboLass · 12/10/2022 00:22

What can you do?

Chuck them back on Ebay or Marketplace.

pastabakeonaplate · 02/11/2022 13:34

It says black/silver so I think you just have to accept it

Quartz2208 · 02/11/2022 13:40

Colours look different depending on lighting (we have hue lights and it is really interesting to see how colours change).

But the description clearly says Black/SIlver and a google brings up exactly what you bought. And even in the selling pictures it just looks a slightly different shade of silver/grey
