would appreciate advice..have never had this happen.
Last thurs I successfully bid on and won a fairy costume for dd..It was only 3.50 but had about 2 quid postage on top..anyway, I never had any communication from the seller and when I hadnt received it today, I emailed..however ive just checked on ebay and she has relisted it! with a BIN of £4.99, so she was obviously peeved that she didnt get that much for it!..but shes still taken my money..I cant beleive shes blatantly ripped me off..what do I do now..can I open a dispuste with ebay this early?

did you pay through paypal?

Candlewax · 24/01/2008 20:35

Are you sure that she has not got more than one?

Did you pay by Paypal? Can you check that the money has gone through or has been cashed if it is a cheque?

You may have to give her 24hrs to respond to your email. If no reply by then, I personally would contact Ebay and open up a dispute.

VVVQV · 24/01/2008 20:36

Last thursday is less than 7 days. I dont know if they'd deal with it yet. It's 10 days isnt it?

lazarou · 24/01/2008 20:39

contact customer services, they will give you her number

SpacecadetOnADiet · 24/01/2008 20:52

it was paid by paypal, usual way with the money being deducted straight from my card..ive checked my bank account and it has definitely gone out.

OP posts:
SpacecadetOnADiet · 24/01/2008 20:55

she said on her original listing that she has another identical item and that if any one wanted both, to drop her a line..howev er the picture is just taken on her living room floor so its not like she has a shop and its a shop pic..on my ebay, next to ended, it says, view re-listed item and she has relisted it exactly as before, with all the same wording etc.

ManxMum · 24/01/2008 21:33

The money may have gone out of your account, but she has to claim it as well. If she has not, you will get it back from paypal

ManxMum · 24/01/2008 21:34

Paypal is like a holding account between buyers and sellers.

FillyjonkisCALM · 24/01/2008 21:38

ah but could she have 2 and be dodging fees by relisting ? (am possibly just confused here)

agree though, you need to contact paypal

if the item doesn't turn up, paypal will refund your money without much of an investigation, tbh.

SpacecadetOnADiet · 24/01/2008 22:35

Have used ebay for years now..never had this happen..the money has actually gone out of my paypal account as well..ive checked the status of the payment and it has definitely gone to the seller.
seems strange that she wouldnt edit her listing so that it no longer says that she has 2..im totally confused as well

OP posts:
sixlostmonkeys · 25/01/2008 08:36

I'd say she has just used the relist function to list her second one. Best to stagger when you have identical items and then you are not competing against yourself.
I'd keep sending her polite messages asking when the item will be sent and then if you still don't hear anything open a dispute

Chopster · 25/01/2008 08:41

I think it's the second one. It's not worth her fees and everything to relist the one she sold you for the sake of £1.50.

Although, I have had that happen to me with a toy. The seller claimed she left it outside the postie for a few mins and someone stole it, then listed the same toy a few weeks later. I emailed ebay and didn't get anywhere since the seller insisted it was a different one.

SpacecadetOnADiet · 25/01/2008 11:28

well Its been 24 hours since I emailed her and Ive emailed twice...think I will have to open a dispute..could have done with out this though with everything else ive got going on.

OP posts:
lazarou · 25/01/2008 13:52

has she still got other items for sale?

SpacecadetOnADiet · 25/01/2008 16:28

yep, shes got other stuff for sale

Flllightattendant · 25/01/2008 16:43

Often an Item Not Received dispute will kick a seller into action.

She will be asked to provide proof of delivery, so if you haven't had the item she can't.

You'll be refunded. One word of caution - DO NOT close the dispute until you have either a refund OR the item, she might ask you to close it before she refunds you, whereas if you do this and she doesn't refund, you cannot reopen the siapute. Be careful!

Flllightattendant · 25/01/2008 16:43

Sorry for typos!

SpacecadetOnADiet · 25/01/2008 16:53

Thank you..I can file a dispute after this sunday, so will be doing it on monday

OP posts:
SpacecadetOnADiet · 25/01/2008 19:25

right well ive had a bemusing email from her,she says, sorry, was waiting for you to let me know what size you wanted before I posted..which is very bizarre, because the listing says she has 2 of the same size..and until today, ive had absoloutely no contact from her.

OP posts:
Flllightattendant · 26/01/2008 06:43

She sounds confused or it might well be an excuse. Is she going to send you one now? Don't let her fob you off, open dispute if you have any doubt at all, give her maybe 3 days and if no item, raise dispute. She could faff around for 45 days and then you've lost it
Good luck!

(you can always close it when item arrives - she knows this!)

SpacecadetOnADiet · 26/01/2008 11:19

I emailed her back saying I didnt think that there wwre any other sizes and asked her why she listed the item again, she claims that she had 2 different sizes and that the new listing is for the other size, so funny how its basically the identical listing with the same pic(its a second hand item not new) and she claims that listing went up before my other one ended, but ive checked the start date and it didnt, shes just making this up, shes now emailed me a further 3 times asking me to tell her what size I want, I have emailed back and said I want the costume in the pic, end of.

OP posts:
VictorianSqualor · 26/01/2008 11:35

Spacecadet, as long as you're going to get the item I'd just leave it, emailing her asking questions etc will probably just annoy her.

SpacecadetOnADiet · 26/01/2008 19:55

Victoriansqualor, I havent been emailing her asking her questions, I emailed her to ask why the item hadnt been sent and she then emailed me 4 times now! asking what size I want! there was no mention of there being different sizes in the listing and funny how she made no contact with me for 8 days after the listing ended..she still hasnt confirmed if she has posted the item and I keep emailing her back saying I want the costume I bid for which I beleive was size 3-4

OP posts:
BearMama · 26/01/2008 22:51

Hi, this reminds me of a subject that was posted on the ebay "community question and answer" boards last year and I am wondering if it is the same seller - it was a costume that was not recieved - I know you cant post her name here but put it into the search box on that board and see what comes up. Good luck!

blossomsmine · 26/01/2008 23:08

I don't really understand the whole ebay thing......I paid by paypal for something 10days ago the money has left the paypal account, i emailed the person once yesterday and then again today, no answer back....still not received the item....
