Faulty item… help!

I bought an electrical item from eBay in April. Item was described as new without box and had “only been used once to test it was working”.

Item arrived - I was expecting it to not come in its original box but I was expecting it in a box of some description - instead it came wrapped in foam and in a plastic bag. It all looked ok and undamaged, but I didn’t use it until today as it’s an item for our new baby who is due over the next week. It doesn’t work at all - doesn’t even switch on! I have messaged the seller who says it was working when she sent it and is willing to offer a small partial refund but not a full refund as it is out of the eBay 30 day money back policy.

I paid via PayPal so I have 180 days to raise a dispute with them - just wondering if it would be worth doing this or to just accept the partial refund? So annoying as now I have to buy a new one and I was trying to save money by getting a second hand one! Maybe this is just the risk I took and should have tested it sooner!

Roses dispute, they will say send item back, get full money back.

Not worth the hassle

Yes, open a PayPal dispute.
