I haven’t sold anything since the change from PayPal for payments but I did some listings last week after a clear out. I researched the sold prices on completed listings and what others were listing for but have only sold one item and barely had views on others.

I used to sell things within days and have loads of views and watchers but it just seems so slow at the minute. Is anyone else finding the same?

I used to sell (mostly clothing) on ebay as my main income and always found the summer months a lot slower. Maybe that's a factor?

I am trying to buy on Ebay, constanly having to ask questions about measurements of pretty much everything that looks like what I am trying to buy, then wait for answers.
Either the seller never replies, assume they don't check their Ebay messages or e.mails, the reply comes after the listing has ended or the item is not what I wanted and could have saved time for both of us if the measurements were in the listing.
Since people have been using phones for photos it is increasingly difficult to figure out what you are looking at. Bits of an object, no idea which bits, blurry photos.
A few words of description like 'red handbags' yes, on a listing that has one single bag.
If you are one of the sellers that is economical with words and don't own a ruler or tape measure, your items will probably end without a sale. If not, perhaps you don't fill in the time consuming item specifics which are actually very useful to buyers as they contain the measurements.
I sold for 22 years and had worked out how best to sell but found it intolerable to be continually jumping through hoops and changing everything when Ebay fiddled with it, plus a lot of the time it didn't function.

One thing, if you are doing all the things above, don't forget Ebay hide listings for various reasons. You have a quiet spell and then it springs back to life. They manipulate it. Often you find that sales are all from the same part of the country, that is why.

I hardly ever buy anything on ebay anymore, Vinted is far easier!

This a million times

Im always on the look out for a particular type of trousers.

One blurred picture of some creased trousers slung over a door or a chair if Im lucky

No leg length
Not clear what the fabric is
Not clear what the fastening is
No other pictures

You email them to ask various questions, particularly about leg length no reply

Drives me round the bend

This batch is beauty products so I’m listing by brand, product name, size, colour with a clear photo but not much else I can add that anyone would search for.

It had crossed my mind that my listings weren’t showing up. I’ll log out and do a search to see if I can see them.

Recently I came across an issue where there was items showing up on eBay via my pc but when searching for them on my phone via the app there were nowhere to be found and just didn't exist, even using the eBay number. Tested this out with both android and apple phones with the same issues. A quick Google said it's been an problem for years when reading some forums🤷🏻‍♂️

Since people mainly use phones these days this could maybe be a contributing factor to why things don't sell or whatever since they will never be seen!

However bad descriptions and pictures are just laziness, if you know what your looking for then great, get yourself a bargain but most of the time I just move on, their loss!
