Call me mad - but I am intrigued. I paid £13 and here is the desription - any thoughts??

these are 6 individval presents.

due to my sister breaking up with her boyfrend just before christmas. and her presents still unopened because she dont want them.

so im going to try and get some of her money back on what she spent on him.

there is 1 boxed and it could be parfum but im not sure. and there is 2 that feel soft and there is 2 that feel hard and 1 of them is heavy. and the last one is long hard and soft. it's hard to tell what they are.

it's a big lucky dip and it's up to you if you would like to bid

have fun!!!!!!!!

Please tell us what they are when they arrive. Sounds like fun (long, hard and soft??)

Hulababy · 10/01/2008 22:24

You must come back and update when you find out where they are!

sophiewd · 10/01/2008 22:25

If I remember rightly that sounds very similar to someones story in Daily Mail, she said that boyfrined was usually pretty generous with presents.

ChorusLine · 10/01/2008 22:26

I will do - have paid her already and she had replied saying she will post first class tomorrow morning - so hopefully will arrive on Saturday!

Fun! Hope it's something nice - you'll have to let us know when they arrive. Could be a scam of course - a few £1 pairs of socks and candles from primark. But it's fun!

wheresthehamster · 10/01/2008 22:28

There were quite a few of these on Ebay all saying basically the same thing. Hope you get a bargain!

ChorusLine · 10/01/2008 22:29

I am expecting the worst then can't be disappointed! Night all!

Ok, I have to ask this has been playing on my mind for days now.

I am actually amazed that so many people have bid quite high for all these listings of unopened xmas presents.

So, here's what I'd like to ask

  1. Do you believe or at least are tempted to believe that the story behind them (relationship break-up etc) is true?
  2. If you do believe the story do you think that they were never ever opened at all?
  3. If you don't believe the story what do you think the seller has done? eg, wrapped her actual unwanted gifts, wrapped stuff she had laying around the house, wrapped tat from the poundshop?
  4. What are you really expecting to be in the parcels? honestly? Are you secretly hoping for an ipod/dvd/expensive shoes...etc
  5. What is the toppermost reason for bidding? is it curiosity or the chance of a bargain?

I really hope you do answer these. I am so unbelievably curious. I am always trying to work out what makes anyone bid on anything to be honest - hey, if I get to know I will be more suceesful in my selling

Would anyone else like to answer some of this?.... if you have been tempted yourself to bid?

hope you don't mind me asking

Well they have arrived!!!

1 Tesco bath set - 3 bottles and 2 big bath bombs
2 Lavender set with joss sticks and oil
3 Avon gift set - bodywash, shower cream and body butter
4 Black shoulder bag (from New Look)
5 2 big belts - those ones you wear round your ribs - one black on gold
6 The untlimate prize - peach velour hotpants!!! With a TWEED body spray!

I knew it was a lucky dip and it was hilarious opening them!!!

Except for the hotpants i can use everything even though i would proabably never buy any of them. Will take photos of them later on as EVIDENCE!!

TheIceQueen · 14/01/2008 15:34

that sounds quite decent for a £13 lucky dip - lots of pampering stuff there too

Lauriefairycake · 14/01/2008 15:35

that is just hilarious

she must have been right smelly for one person to buy her all that smelly stuff

ChorusLine · 14/01/2008 15:39

Hi SLM - no dont mind you asking here are my answers!!!

1 Didn't believe for a moment story was true - but I am cynical single person!
2 They were really crumpled when they arrived as if they had had a good feel
3 Think she wrapped unwanted gifts
4 Honestly i was expecting things like candles socks etc - things you can get in primark
5 Reason for bidding was ultimate nosiness, I love lucky dips tombolas etc

Also to add there were others on there that were too professional as in saying things like my boyfriends normally gets my diamonds etc - this one was in pink comic sans writing and spelling mistakes!

Meant to add - belts have a tag on with EVIE which apparently is Peacocks. The hotpants are a size 16 - which is my size but still not a good look!!!

No wonder they split up then! Will you be modelling the pressies for the photographic evidence??
