New eBay seller and listing limits

Hi all,

I have recently come into some stock that I wish to start an eBay business with.
I have hundreds of items that need listing, however I have just opened a business account with eBay and they have limited me to 10 per month!
They have said they will review this monthly; but how can I speed this up, as this is set to become my main source of income, once the ball is rolling?

You can't speed it up. You are a brand new seller and business and you're going to have to prove you are trustworthy. Expect your funds to be put on hold too until the buyer has confirmed receipt. It isn't as easy as "just set up an eBay" business these days.
You could try selling elsewhere as well? Like Facebook marketplace, Ebid, Amazon and others depending on what the items are.

I understand. However, how are you supposed to build it up with such a slow start?
If all 10 listings sold in the first few days, then what? I have to wait till next month to list anything else?

You build it elsewhere as well. If you have a registered business then you may be able to appeal it but to be honest, dealing with eBay is an absolute nightmare. Do you not have an old account you've used for purchasing that you can convert to a business account and then set up a new personal one?

You can bunch items together and treat them as one lot.

As well as limits on the number of items you can list and sell, there's a limit on the total value you can sell each month. You used to be able to increase the amount if you add a credit card and phone number to your account, but it takes at least 6 months to build up enough trust to list any quantity.
It also helps your trust rating if you use your account to make purchases, so don't use it just for selling.

In fairness they should bump it up quite a bit next month, to maybe 50 or 100 items.
