ok.....excuse me if this is at all garbled, but I am mad as hell and I tend to rant rather than be rational.

here goes.....

on the 28th nov I won an auction for some power rangers pj's for my DS1 (all my kiddies get new pj's and a blanket and slipper socks for xmas eve pressies to encourage them to go to bed).

anyhoo.......paid on the day I won, along with 3 other items from the same seller.

was rather peeved with him anyway at that point as I requested that he cojoin all the items and he refused (and postage too), but hey ho......thoguth that it is his business so still went thro with the transaction.

received the other three items ok....two together, one separate, all cheaper than one lot of postage, BUT the items were nice so still left his good positive feedback.

HOWEVER.....the power rangers pj's never arrived.

I left it until the 12th(?) dec which had given him two weeks, he had in the meantime tho sent me over five requests for feedback for the pj's, and then emailed him asking where the pj's were. (I had also received 2 emails telling me he had sent the pj's, after requesting the feedback).

anyhoo.....no reply to request about where the pj's were, yet another request from him for feedback.

I went to his feedback page tho to find a spate of negs left for him about lack of items sent plus lack of reply to emails requesting info.
he had responded to each neg feedback with the exact same response (including the exact same spelling mistakes), that he had not received their emails and items had been sent, so they were in the wrong!

I again sent an email asking where my pj's were.....thro ebay and thro the other email address that was attached to the emails he kept sending me for the feedback request.

Go back to his F/B page to see more negs, and so it seemed to me that the only way that people got this mans attention was to leave neg F/B....so emailed him again threatening said action from me (ie, that unless he replied I assumed that he had no way of contact from buyers except thro his F/B page) and so I would leave a message disguised as F/B IYGWIM....

I then got a response saying that all of his ebay emails were faulty and that he had sent the item but if I wanted that he would refund me.....only tho if I did it outside of ebay (ie....he would not refund thro paypal even tho that was how I had paid). ooh, and before he did, I had to please still leave good F/B

I replyed no to this, as obviously this is against ebay rules, and seeing as he was offering the refund, then I would expect it with 24hrs into my paypal acount.

48hrs later no refund. sent another email telling him that unless I recieved refund with the next 24hrs, I would leave neg F/B and report him.

on the 21st dec I did indeed leave neg F/B, and also opened dispute.

I then left it all until I heard from ebay, which tonight I have!

ebay contacted me to tell me that this man had requested my information, and that they had given it, and then showed me the info they had given.....it was my full address and telephone number.

now, to be fair, he NEEDED my address to send the item, so I am not concerned about that, but the fact that they have given him my telephone number is appaling is it not?????

they also sent me another email telling me he had left neg F/B to me, but he was willing to withdraw it if I would withdraw mine.........

his F/B as follows......

Please see my email can we agreed to remove the feedback. thanks

05-Jan-08 23:41
POWER RANGERS ROYAL/NAVY/RED Pyjamas, PJs Size - 7-8 (#250191936731)

he then sends me a message as follows......

Feedback you left: No item, extremely poor response to emails,no refund as offered, dispute opened

Feedback you received: Please see my email can we agreed to remove the feedback. thanks

Message from seller: Hi, Sorry didn't mean to leave neg feedback I was filling in the wrong form. Can we agreed to removal feedback. Pls see my other email as well. thanks
Date/Time: 28-Nov-07 18:12:16 GMT

note the time of is apparent message to ask me to withdraw!!!!

tis an effing standard message he has obviously sent out to all his effing people that left neg F/B, and the time he wrote this was the day I won the item from him!

I am gobsmacked.....and also gobsmacked that ebay hasn't effing done anything about him yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am at a loss as to what to do....I still don't have the items, nor the refund, yet ebay have apparently given him my number (yet in their email requested that I do nothing outside of ebay as then I void the contract of buying etc).

soooooooo

help please, and sorry for the essay, but am mad and confused!!!!

He sounds like a tosser. Just report him and put the loss down to experience. At least it was just pyjamas and not a car or something!

Moral of the story is to check the seller's feedback before you bid .. anything less than 98% positive and you should steer well clear imo.

1dilemma · 06/01/2008 02:01

Would be pissed too I asked paypal for the details of someone who scammed me (wanted to take them to small claims court) and they didn't give. I'm still in discussion with then though.

Carnival · 06/01/2008 02:06

I am a bit pissed off with ebay too. What annoys me is that, as a buyer, you can pay the money 10 minutes after the item finishes i.e. doing the best a buyer possibly can to fulfill their side of the contract and yet still get bloody negative feedback when the seller fails to come through with theirs - this has happened to me twice, the first time the seller put a big AVOID BUYER note in the comments, despite the fact that I made the payment straight away and it was their item that was broken, next time, the seller said the item had been worn once and the item was VERY worn and I gave the item to charity as it would have cost me more than the refund in postage to return it.

Sorry, there's my rant, no practical help, just someone in the same 'pissed off' boat as you. He's clearly a shit seller and deserves the negative feedback you are giving him - the pisser is that ebay don't do anything to rectify the obviously unfair tit-for-tat negative feedback situation. I complained, but it came to nothing and just made me even more frustrated.

MAMAZON · 06/01/2008 02:07

it is standard that if you have won an item you can request each others details.
he has been givben you info and you should have an email with his details as well.

continue all the way with the resolution, you paid via paypal so they will refund you

psychomum5 · 06/01/2008 02:08

thanks for the replies

I am well aware now that he is a tosse, but to be fair, his F/B % was still 98% when I won the first auction from him!!, Tis been since then that he has dropped dramatically....he is now down to 91% in 5wks.

I am not now so very worried about the money or the pj's......I got other pj's anyway for DS1, and the money is 'only' £11, so small fry it the great scheme of things, but it is however still my money.

what has really made me mad tho is the fact that ebay have willingly given him my telephone no, after I had reported him to them, and at HIS request....but then told me not to deal with him OUTSIDE of ebay.

am also mad that he could leave me a neg only to ask me to take mine back, yet still not refund me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sooooooooooooooooo....what now?????? can I report ebay?????

OP posts:
Carnival · 06/01/2008 02:12

I think we will need to be satisfied with the bad publicity we can give them here [big sigh of relief emoticon]

psychomum5 · 06/01/2008 02:12

and it is the telephone no. thing that has got me the most mad too.....address atc he had to have, he is entitled to have it and indeed needs it to send me my items.....but he does NOT need my tel.no.! AT ALL.

oh, reading the email again, I do also have his tel.no......but why should I ring him when Ebay have told me NO CONTACT OUTSIDE OF EBAY?????

OP posts:
Carnival · 06/01/2008 02:35

True. Can you maybe put his number in your phone so it displays as "ebay idiot" in order that you don't answer it unknowingly?

Ebay are shite for giving out your number without contacting you first, no doubt it'll be in the small print that it's allowable, however illogical. They should contact and ask first, surely.

FlameNFurter · 06/01/2008 10:40

The phone number thing is appalling imo - you can ignore emails, but if the guy turns out to be the type to hurl abuse over the phone it is much much harder to avoid and it hurts so much more.

I assumed when we started the dispute (it is through my paypal) that it would all be done via email like everything else to do with ebay.

What happens now with disputes then? neither of us have done this before.

psychomum5 · 06/01/2008 10:47

mr psycho reckon sthat there should be a way of the paypal just refunding as soon as dispute is opened, but he has NO *IDEA about ebay has he never goes on it so he knows nuffin. (altho he does have a point, just he is talking twaddle IMO).

as for the twunt who still has my money.........am still confused and bloody fuming that he is allowed my tel.no. and am really worried about the abuse hurling, seeing as the kiddies often answer the phone too......how would they take that????

I could in theory tell them not to answer the phone, but at 13 and nearly 12, will they listen??? wehn they think the phone is there for their social life me thnks not.

ooooh, another thing.....the details I have about this ebay is in no way a real name, and his ID is also not a real naem......yet Ebay have given HIM MY* name.....

twunt twunt twunt

OP posts:
psychomum5 · 06/01/2008 10:50

and carnival.....I cannot put any no. into my phone for caller ID....phone is too old for that.

yes am thrilled about the ability to 'out' people here, at least we get a release valve of sorts to rant, but it doesn't stop the crappy ebayers.......and mine is in no way as bad as lots out there.

least it is 'only' £11!(still my money tho)

OP posts:
itsahardknocklife · 06/01/2008 10:52

Claim the money back through Paypal as the item hasn't arrived.
Take your phone number off your personal details with Ebay -I think you can anyway.

babyjjbaby · 06/01/2008 10:54

ohno i had that done t ome from a nigeria scam on a phone i was so shocked that they had given this person our address and phone number there was no need for him to have either coz i was the seller

psychomum5 · 06/01/2008 11:02

actually just gone thro his last months neg F/B (yes, I am that sad and mad), to add up how much he has gained thro not sending the items he has got the money for........rough count (ie, rounding up the £3.99/£4.99 amount to the nearest £), it came to £250.....and that was wothout the postage which would obviously be on top, and he has a standard postage of £3.99 for each and every item!

I reckon he has easily made £400, if not £500 in the last month fraudulantly(sp?)....maybe even more!!!!

soooooooooooooooooooooooo.....how the hell can ebay still let him trade (well, I have no clue really that they all reported him. I am guessing that most just wrote off the money and the ebayer as a bad experience.) I however have to much sense of injustice to allow this........

OP posts:
psychomum5 · 06/01/2008 11:06

itsahardknocklife.......we are trying to claim back the money.....tis because of that that ebay gave him my details......never knew that they could do that, never mind that they would!!!!

and he has still not refunded, yet he negged F/B me to tell me to remove his that I left, yet even now, NO REFUND!!!!

babyjjbaby.....grrrrr........we all get some scam at some point don't we......my sympathies for yours.

OP posts:
sixlostmonkeys · 06/01/2008 11:18

sorry - haven't read the entire thread, but

as annoying as it is ebay are allowed to give contact numbers and this is just one of the many things you agree to upon registering with ebay. I use a number that isn't my home number, many people have an old phone just for ebay.

go through with the dispute and you will receive your refund from paypal. If he doesn't respond to the dispute his fb will be removed

psychomum5 · 06/01/2008 11:24

sixlostmonkeys......I knew that they took your details when you register, but to be honest thought it was just so ebay could contact me if needed, not that they would pass it on to whoever I opened a dispute with.

teaches me to read the small print really doesn't it.

and as for the neg F/B that he left me, can they indeed take back what he left me, even if I don't want to remove what I left for him???

tis confusing.

at least this is the first and only problem I have had........if it had been my first transaction I would be running around like a headless chicken (altho flame would probably say that anyway about me

OP posts:
sixlostmonkeys · 06/01/2008 11:28

afaik if someone doesn't respond to a dispute they can not leave FB and if they have already left FB it will be removed.
afaik if FB is mutually withdrawn the neg gets removed but the comment remains - not sure if the same applies when removal occurs when they haven't responded during dispute.

I'd sit tight, don't agree to the mutual withdrawal and then at a later date simply reply to their FB along the lines of seller left this neg just to bully me into removing mine

FlameNFurter · 06/01/2008 11:30

Oooh I like your thinking sixmonkeys

Can we post his ebay id here?

itsahardknocklife · 06/01/2008 11:38

Let's all change our phone numbers with Ebay and leave fake ones!

psychomum5 · 06/01/2008 12:25

Tis Flame - we have left replies to our feedback and his, calling him morally repungent (I think Psycho is in the swing of this now) for leaving neg feedback to try to force feedback withdrawal.

OP posts:
helenhismadwife · 06/01/2008 21:56

if you request the detials of someone who you have a transaction with it gives the details that you have provided, at the same time as giving twunt your details ebay should give you his contact details. I think as a seller you have to provide a phone number not sure if you are just a buyer though I use my mobile number but never answer it anyway if its anyone I dont know

psychomum5 · 07/01/2008 22:49

ooooooookkkkkkkkk......now I am confused.

went to check on this evil seller person, and his links are still there, his feedback still there, shop still 'there', but all items are now not for sale.

am now wondering whether this man has been banned from selling anything........I know lots had reported him in the last 4wks......feedback went waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down really quickly!!!!!

are we allowed to say names on here???

don't really care if not, but this may mean a result is fast in coming thro

OP posts:
Carnival · 08/01/2008 21:17

Result!!!

Well done, you.
