Ok, I know it's not a huge sum but it's not small fry either and I am rather pissed off anyway. Here's the item.
This person was obviously scamming people in the run-up to Christmas to make a bit of cash .
I've filed a claim with Paypal but I'm not sure it'll get anywhere - not sure the feedback score was over 50 when I bought the item.

Is there any other way of getting back at her? Can people just do this??? Dh thinks I should report it to the police, but I don't even have the woman's proper email address - just the ebay ID and a name (Lindsey Scott).

what exactly happened? just that it didn't turn up? adn now you can't get a reply from them?

GeekgirlRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 03/01/2008 10:41

it didn't turn up, no replies, she hid her feedback and received 6 negs over the past two weeks.

was their feedback private when you paid for the item?

Flier · 03/01/2008 10:41

sorry x-post.

Flier · 03/01/2008 10:42

sorry, don't know anything about what you can do about this, but i'm sure someone on here will be along soon.

rantinghousewife · 03/01/2008 10:44

You can access her seller details if you have purchased something from her, you will have to try to contact her/him before you report it to ebay anyhow.

GeekgirlRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 03/01/2008 10:46

I can't see her details anywhere. I think because she has listed Paypal as the only payment option, it doesn't give me any more info such as her address etc.

you can request her contact details and phone her.
the claim with paypal should go in your favour but it might take a while.

the police won't want to know

itsahardknocklife · 03/01/2008 11:02

Have you logged it as item not received through Paypal?
Chances are lots of people have and so Paypal will give you your money back, although it may take a while.

rantinghousewife · 03/01/2008 11:03

6lostmonkeys put it better than me, you can request their contact details if you have purchased something from them.

sixlostmonkeys · 03/01/2008 11:04

I was about to say there could be a genuine reason for her lack of performance as I thought she had just been selling low value items, BUT then I saw that she has sold quite a lot of Wiis!!!

www.goofbay.com/ebay_seller_history_tool.html?gsl_username=time_to_treat_yourself&gsl_days=30&gsl_in clude=sold&gslsubmit=&gslsubmit.x=40&gsl_submit.y=8

I reckon the low value stuff was just to throw people of the scent

sixlostmonkeys · 03/01/2008 11:08

looking further, feedback left for all sales state item not received.
Also, all her photos are stock photos - something to avoid in future

Flier · 03/01/2008 11:09

i think it was Wii instructions she was selling

GeekgirlRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 03/01/2008 11:11

gosh, she's quite the scammer! What a useful website, sixlostmonkeys.

Yes, I did log it as not received on Paypal and started a claim a couple of days ago.

Flier - keep looking down the list - she has 'sold' consoles too
