What the chuff is up with the fees?!

First of all they hold my sale money. Then they make me set up a direct debit (wtf?) then they make me state how often I want to get my sale money ('now' isn't an option apparently) then they are making me wait 14 days to get my fees.

But worse still, I make £35 from the sale and they charge me £5.19!!

How is that justified?!

I know right. It's crap now isn't it!

TiffanyAchingsHatFullofSky · 10/02/2022 21:55

Yup.

I've withdrawn all my sales and gone over to Vinted.

Nice one EBay Hmm

I keep meaning to look into Vinted. I think I've stayed with eBay just because I've been used to it for years so it's easier.
I hope you have some luck on Vinted.

I bought a lovely expensive thing this week and the poor seller had to cancel the sale because of eBay's fuckery. I'm gutted.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 10/02/2022 22:15

Seems we can't even have any comeback from non-payers either. I've had to cancel a sale today as over a week with no payment. The only option was to cancel and relist - no non-payment strike for the buyer Hmm.

I've also had huge fees from a £35 cash/pickup sale. They then started threatening me for not paying the fee as there was nothing in my account. If they hadn't changed the sodding payment method then there'd have been a provision to pay. It really pissed me off how they emailed every day saying I was breaching their terms etc.

cherrysthename · 10/02/2022 22:35

How come they need a DD set up? That's what I don't get, as when I look at the final total payout from my sales, they've already knocked off the fee before it even goes into my account.

TiffanyAchingsHatFullofSky · 10/02/2022 23:07

I've no idea but as soon as I get my money for this item I've sold (if I ever get it, because I don't believe I will tbh) then I'm closing my account.

Ebay took fees from me over 3 separate charges for 1 sale, because 'reasons'... what a faff defo off to try vinted!

If it’s a cash sale cancel the sale once you’ve got the other persons contact details then you don’t have to pay the fees.
With a bit of care you can occasionally hide your email or phone number in a message on eBay.
If you sell a lot the managed payments work well. As fees are deducted before it hits your bank account so there’s no bill at the end of the month. Mine is set up to payout within 2 days. The fees aren’t really any different to before.
It is best to take full advantage of the special offers

You will get the money, Tiffany. It just takes ages if you've not sold for a while whilst they can 'verify' you. Although there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it because I was waiting a couple of weeks once, then made a sale the following day to the one I was waiting on, and the funds from that were available the following day. To sum up= a faff.
